Kids’ Crochet Camp for Beginners  KC013

(Ages 8 & up — Level 1) Kids will enjoy learning to crochet with Jill’s kind and expert help. They will start with a simple chain necklace, and progress to learn single crochet as they are ready.

Kids’ Intermediate Crochet Camp  KC023

(Ages 8 & up — Level 2) Kids who know basic chain and single crochet can advance their skills with Jill’s expert help. They learn to crochet a hacky sack or a cute bandana and time permitting, may make a Tic-Tac-Toe bag, while learning half double, double and triple crochet. They will also learn how to read patterns! Intro to Machine Sewing 1  CC030

(Level 1) Learn the basics of machine sewing... Start by learning the different parts of your sewing machine, how to thread your machine and wind your bobbin, and how to pin your material together to prepare it for sewing. Learn about seam allowance, how to sew straight lines, curved lines, and how to pivot your work. And last learn how to zig-zag on and off the edge of your fabric for a finished edge. Use your new skills to make a Kleenex holder or an eye glass holder or a small drawstring bag that you will be proud to use.

Beginning Needle Tatting   CA040

(Level 1) Needle tatting is for you if you’ve tried shuttle tatting and discovered it’s not your cup of tea (the knot just won’t flip)! The knots are created on a long, skinny needle (no point) and then the thread is pulled through to create the ring or chain. Voila! No knot-flipping required! And the joy of it all is: it looks just like shuttle tatting and the same patterns can be used.

Needle Tatted Button Ornaments   CA061

(Level 2 – Basic needle tatting skills required) Use your new-found needle tatting skills to make lovely ornaments. Make them in Christmas colors, any seasonal holiday colors, or just make them in your favorite colors and hang them all year round. These ornaments can be free-hanging, mounted on a bag or clothing or even framed.

Hand Embroidered Cards: Spring Flowers & Butterflies   RE137

(All Levels) Come learn to create four unique cards with an array of beautiful variegated and sparkly metallic threads to create a variety of flowers, butterflies, stems and leaves. Then add beads and sequins to complete your cards. You will leave with all the knowledge and tools to create beautiful hand embroidered cards on your own.

Let’s Make an Apron    CC009

(All Levels) Choose between three different styles of aprons to fit your sewing experience.
Beginner sewers can learn to make a half apron, a little bit more experienced sewers the V apron, and advanced sewers the ruffle apron. Sewers pick the pattern and fabric that appeals to you from The InnGathering’s wide selection! Please let us know what your choice is when signing up. Machines are available to rent if you need one.

(Basic sewing experience required) If you're interested in alterations, repurposing existing clothing, adjusting patterns to fit your body, learning to read a pattern, crafting, quilting, or decorating your home... you need to sign up for this group class. A quick consultation with Rossanna before the day of the class will help you prepare for your project with the necessary supplies and tools to complete your goals. (All Levels) Come learn how to take the labor out of making a most unique tunic because we are starting with a table runner — yep, a table runner! Watch the transformation as this table runner morphs into a stunning tunic while incorporating doilies, laces and linens. Embellish with simple embroidery stitches and/or trims as you see fit.

Knitted Telescope Cowl with Nadine   CA062

Teacher: Nadine Berthiaume. (Intermediate Beginner and Beyond — proficient using the knit and purl stitches)  This gradually shaped telescoping cowl features a simple and distinct checkerboard knit and purl block pattern. You will learn to work in the round on a circular needle, keep track of pattern rows, become comfortable counting pattern rows, recognize knit and purl stitches within the pattern, bind off in the pattern, and read and understand a written pattern. You’ll love the ease of this grab-and-go knitting project worked on size 10.5 needles. My Wedding Ring Quilt with Cecile Choi   QF006

(All Levels — Sewing machine and rotary cutting experience required) Using Cecile’s original pattern, you will learn a modern take on the traditional double wedding ring. Cecile’s version uses a variety of colors in the background, and the rings are all the same color, making it easy to see the shapes of the rings and the squares. Instead of the traditional curved piecing to create the wedding rings, she will teach you machine applique making it easier for both cutting and sewing!

(Level 2) Learn how to knit socks from the toe up or top down — knee highs, calf length or even some sockiedoos. Learn cabled or ribbed legs on your socks, as well as a great spiral pattern. Choose to learn knitted or crocheted fingerless gloves including Intarsia knitted fingerless gloves! OR... (All Levels) Have you ever wanted to try wool applique and learn beautiful hand embroidery stitches? Join award-winning designer, teacher and author, Hanne (Mama) Lohde, for a fun and inspiring stitching experience. Beginner embroiderers can start with one of Hanne’s embroidered wool bunnies, gnomes or chicks, and experienced embroiderers can choose from two charming projects — the Blooming Needle Keeper or the Night Blooming Needle Keeper books. Embroiderers looking for a challenge may want to make one of Hanne’s quilts or wallhangings and even start her new quilt — Mama’s Garden. Discover the joy of creating with wool, thread, and needle. Throughout the class, Hanne will share her signature construction methods, demonstrate a variety of embroidery stitches, and teach thread management as well as dimensional embroidery techniques that bring flowers, leaves, and butterflies to life. Several original samples from our first class nine years ago became part of Chris’s published book, beautifully edited by a fellow InnGathering participant.
