We are continuing to hold classes, and are adding classes frequently!
Some of our teachers are holding classes in their or our homes and a few other locations in Costa Mesa and Huntington Beach. Check this page for classes available now and to find out when we are up and running in a store location with a full class schedule!

Kids’ Crochet KC059
(All Levels — Ages 8 & Up) Beginners will start off with a choice of a crocheted hair scrunchie, cell phone holder or bracelet, then move into seasonal projects such as a Candy Corn and more. Experienced students may select their own projects with Jill’s help. Pattern fees will be paid to teacher in class.

Open Stitch with Mama Lohde QF042
(All Levels) Students will learn wool applique and hand embroidery stitches, wool quilting techniques, plus many of Hanne’s tricks and methods to make your stitching easier and make your own embroidery even more beautiful! There are 10 spaces so contact Hanne at mamalohde@gmail.com to sign up. Bring your current Mama Lohde project to work on or go to www.mamalohde.com to choose a new project. A supply list will be emailed depending on the project. Coffee and tea are served free of charge, but bring your own lunch.

A warm welcome to Erica Jimenez. Erica has loved sewing since she was a little girl. She uses her background in the fashion industry to make her own patterns and clothes, and wants to bring back the practice of sewing for everyday life!
Beginning & Intermediate Sewing with Erica Jimenez CC035
(All Levels) Whether you’re just beginning to sew or are looking to level up your work, this class will help you develop your skills. Beginners, who know how to thread their machines and sew a straight line, can choose to make a tote bag, or a simple skirt or top. Intermediate students can choose their project and receive support and guidance to challenge themselves with something new! NOTE: Group pricing available by request — $110 for 3 sessions or $140.00 for 4 sessions within the same month.

Intro to Machine Sewing 1 CC030
(Level 1) Learn the basics of machine sewing... Start by learning the different parts of your sewing machine, how to thread your machine and wind your bobbin, and how to pin your material together to prepare it for sewing. Learn about seam allowance, how to sew straight lines, curved lines, and how to pivot your work. And last learn how to zig-zag on and off the edge of your fabric for a finished edge. Use your new skills to make a Kleenex holder and/or eye glass holder you will be proud to use.

(All Levels) (All Levels) This class will review how to thread your sewing machine, and all the basic sewing machine skills. You will learn how to sew a beginner friendly project. Choose between an apron, zipper pouch, pillowcase or a tote bag.

Knit and Crochet with Sheilah — November CA021
(Level 2) Get help with any unfinished Sheilah project, or choose to learn Estonia Lace knitting. Did you ever admire a truly beautiful lace knitted shawl but were afraid to try your hand at making one? If so, this is the class for you. These gorgeous pieces originated in Estonia many generations ago and they all feature very distinctive little baubles called nupps. Once you learn how they're made, you'll want to include some in all of your lace knitting projects. Sheilah will teach you everything you need to know to get started – from the cast on, to the magical stitches, to the blocking. You choose the lace pattern and come to class for instruction on completion.

Hand Embroidered Fuzzy Christmas Cards RE002
(All Levels) Come have fun creating four unique hand embroidered fuzzy Christmas cards: a Christmas tree with flowered garland, Christmas wreath with a burgundy bow, Christmas ornaments hanging from a branch and a Christmas cat sleeping under a gold star with a mouse climbing a branch with berries. Learn the backstitch, stem stitch and a stitch unique to card embroidery, and leave with all the knowledge and tools to create beautiful Christmas cards on your own.

Crazy Patch Embroidery (November) RE322
(Level 2) In each Crazy Patch Embroidery class, a different set of stitches is taught that can be made into a “stitch page", added to your crazy patch, or to a special project. In November, we are continuing with our circle medallion project, the third “section” which is the flowers. Come and join us while learning some uniquely placed stitches that make a statement anywhere you put them. New stitches include the rice stitch, 3-D flower and the rope stitch, and some old familiar ones will be incorporated as well. If you haven’t worked with Thread Gatherers “Aurora” thread which is a blend of silk and mohair with a sparkle, you are in for a treat!

Alcohol Ink Ornaments CP177
(All Levels – Ages 8 & up) Get festive with alcohol inks and turn clear glass ornaments into one-of-a-kind pieces of art to gift or hang on your own tree. Danna will teach the process of using alcohol inks, compressed air and glitter to create beautiful ornaments. Students will decorate six glass ornaments each.

Knit and Crochet with Sheilah — December CA027
(Level 2) Get help with any unfinished Sheilah project, or choose to learn to make Intarsia Roly-Poly Socks. These socks are a showpiece for Intarsia... a technique that allows you to carry your pattern color along the wrong side of the work as you knit to make a creative and exciting fashion statement!

Up-Cycled and Embellished Clothing CC037
(All Levels) Whether it be a pair of pants, a flannel or even a skirt, watch how these garments transform as you add, alter and embellish. Learn how to use scraps of fabric, methods of layering, cutting away and raveling to create your own unique garment or purse! You can purchase a “stash kit” which will include a wide variety of fabrics from cottons to fancies, and laces and trims to further the inspiration of your soon-to-be original!

Pam, an avid collector of paper and ephemera, has combined her passions of history and paper to create items from found objects, recycled books, and papers. She hopes to share her enthusiasm and inspire you to create your own treasures from everyday things!
The Art of Locking Love Letters CP115
(All Levels) Come learn to make Regency and Victorian enclosures for love notes, gifts, invitations, Valentines, tea parties, and journals. Make three projects during the class: Russian Triangle — to practice folds and learn the terminology (and they make wonderful bookmarks); Regency Locking Letter — for invitations, announcements, and Thank You’s; Victorian Love Letter Locket — to hold gifts, for invitations, and Thank You’s. Pam will demonstrate how to fold each letter, give tips, and teach steps one-on-one. Samples of the step-by-step directions will be available, along with written handouts. You will make one blank letter example for practice before using decorative paper. (These blank letters will be a reference when not in class.) Complete all three Letters and hopefully have time to make more, plus confetti and button bands that wrap around your Victorian Locket, as much as you want.

Bluebird of Happiness Doll & Birdhouse with Leslie O’Leary DC056
(Level 3) Leslie is genuinely passionate about this project and look forward to sharing it with you! She intends for Bluebird to bring joy and happiness while you create, and to continue challenging you with many different techniques! In this one-of-a-kind learning journey, you'll have the chance to craft a delightful bluebird using a range of techniques... employing needle felting, blending dry and wet felting to shape the bird's head, and a unique approach to form her beak. Additionally, you will construct a free-standing anthropomorphic body complete with hands and feet. Your bluebird will be adorned with specially designed garments, including an under slip, an embroidered chemise-style dress, and boots suitable for garden strolls. As a bonus, you will also create a beautiful birdhouse with a nest inside, enhancing the overall project. Leslie is excited to expand your creativity!
